The firm also extended its support for the Sepolia and Goerli testnets on ETH gateways. Cloudflare's support for the Merge is crucial since it allows users and devices to connect to the Ethereum network.
Cloudflare is the largest internet infrastructure provider with a market share of 80%. Most crypto platforms, including FTX, KuCoin, Kraken, Coinbase, WazirX, CoinMarketCap, Coingecko, Nexo, and others, rely on Cloudflare to connect to the internet.
On September 13, Cloudflare announced support for the Ethereum Merge on the Ethereum network. Also, the Sepolia and Goerli testnets will now be supported by Cloudflare's Ethereum gateway. Users can utilize the Merge testnets to test and build decentralized applications (DApps), as well as, test upgrades on the network.
“The Ethereum Gateway enables any customer to engage with the ETH network without the need to host their own dedicated node.”
Cloudflare's testnet support will ensure the stability, feasibility, and security in implementing changes before they are deployed to the ETH Mainnet.
Furthermore, Cloudflare announced the validation of the Rinkeby signer, which was used to serve the Ethereum ecosystem. According to the Ethereum Foundation, support for the Rinkeby testnet will terminate on January 15, 2023.
In addition, the Ethereum Foundation has recommended that users and developers should transfer to the Goerli or Sepolia testnets. The Ethereum Merge testnets Kiln, Ropsten, and Rinkeby will be discontinued and shut down soon.
ETH Clients and Developers Ready for PoS Transition
