Legendary Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has made a strategic investment

in Rario, a cricket non-fungible token (NFT) platform.

Tendulkar will become a brand ambassador for the Dream Capital-backed digital collectibles platform as part of the agreement, as per a statement from the NFT platform. Tendulkar will also sell his own digital collectibles exclusively on the platform.

“Fans are an integral part of every sport. While the action on the field lasts only a few hours, fans keep the memories with them and immortalize those moments forever.” According to Tendulkar, “it is great to see NFT technology bringing fans closer to sports and allowing them to cherish their favorite moments.”

“The Rario team was dedicated to creating a responsible cricket community via the use of technology. As a result, I am delighted to collaborate with the team to publish my digital collectibles exclusively on the Rario platform,” he says.

Rario co-founder and CEO Ankit Wadhwa comment on the investment, saying, "Partnering with the Master Blaster and him investing in Rario is a surreal feeling. It reflects our goal of making fandom more accessible. A future in which stars aren't only seen on a distant flickering screen or in a crowded stadium, and fans aren't just spectators but active participants.”

Rario claims to have exclusive deals with numerous domestic and international cricketers, including Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Rishabh Pant, Smriti Mandhana, Aaron Finch, Faf Du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Shakib Al Hasan, Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel.

In recent years, the concept of digital assets has shifted dramatically. NFTs are a type of digital asset that tracks asset ownership and transfer via blockchain. Since its inception, the craze has extended to all sectors of art, media, fashion, and sports.

The startup claims that NFTs are swiftly nearing the $50 billion market value of all works of art, with a market value of $40 billion.

Rario claims exclusive ties with Cricket Australia, New Zealand Cricket, the Big Bash League, the Women's Big Bash League, Super Smash, the Hero Caribbean Premier League, and the Lanka Premier League.

It also claims to have over 900 international cricketers on its list, as well as over 30 exclusive brand ambassadors. Rario also claims to have sold over 150,000 NFTs to sports enthusiasts in over 75 countries.

The company counts Polygon Studios as a partner as well as Animoca Brands, Presight Capital, and Kingsway Capital as investors.
