SEC Action Embarrass

The release date of the XRP Lawsuit verdict is still unknown, but Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse continued to lambast the SEC.

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, strongly criticised the SEC once more on Wednesday. Garlinghouse criticised the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) conduct in the litigation, even though it is still unclear when the judgement in the XRP vs. SEC lawsuit would be released. The Ripple CEO mentioned the timetable for the lawsuit's resolution during a speech at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. He predicted that the verdict might be rendered in a matter of months.

Earlier, Garlinghouse asserted that the underlying disparities between the parties made it impossible for them to negotiate a compromise. Any settlement would be subject to the SEC's determination that XRP is not a security, he continued. The SEC claimed that Ripple's selling of XRP reflected sales of unregistered securities, which is the central claim in the XRP case. Ripple, however, consistently disagreed and persisted in the debate.

'Embarrassing SEC Behavior'

The CEO of Ripple referred to the SEC's handling of the XRP matter as "embarrassing as a U.S. citizen" in an interview with CNBC. Garlinghouse stated that he anticipated the court presiding over the XRP lawsuit will issue the ruling in 2023. In fact, he is confident that the verdict will be rendered within a few months. We anticipate a decision in 2023 at the very least because the case has been completely submitted and briefed in front of the judge, he said.

Being a citizen of the United States, I found the SEC's conduct in the XRP matter to be shameful. Some of the events you have witnessed make you think, "You've got to be kidding me."

In 2023, the price of XRP considerably increased. According to CoinGabbar, the price of XRP is currently $0.3871, down 0.1% from the previous day.
