On opening day for Major League Baseball (MLB) at Nationals Park in Washington D.C., baseball fans noticed the presence of Terra, the now-collapsed crypto ecosystem.

Terra’s ad was displayed on a banner with the slogan "a decentralized economy needs decentralized money."

During The Washington Nationals' home opener against the Atlanta Braves on March 30, a Twitter user in attendance shared a photo of a banner featuring the name Terra. The banner, which read "a decentralized economy needs decentralized money," garnered attention from fans at the game who were curious about the reference to a cryptocurrency ecosystem that had recently collapsed.

Upon seeing Terra's prominent display at the stadium, one Twitter user commented, "Sounds like a solid company. Will check out." Meanwhile, another user pointed out that The Terra Club, a VIP pre-game venue experience, is still situated behind the home plate at Nationals Park. In addition, a large sign promoting Terra can be seen in the left center. These displays suggest that, despite its collapse in May 2022, Terra continues to hold a place in the world of cryptocurrency and digital assets.

In February 2022, Terra announced a partnership with The Washington Nationals. The deal, which saw Terra's native token LUNA and stablecoin UST being promoted at Nationals Park, was secured with a commitment of $38.2 million in UST over five years from the Terra community.

Terra's founder Do Kwon had suggested the partnership via the community's governance platform. However, Kwon is currently being held in custody in Montenegro, and according to an anonymous criminal defense lawyer in a March 29 Protos report, is being subjected to severe conditions within the penal system.

It is worth mentioning that the state of prisons and jails in Montenegro remains unchanged from the description in the United States State Department's 2020 human rights report, which highlighted a 2015 case in which prison officers were found guilty of inflicting torture and causing serious bodily harm to 11 inmates.

While the presence of the banner may have been unexpected, it underscores the increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies and their potential to disrupt traditional financial systems. As the world of digital currencies continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how they will be integrated into mainstream society and what impact they will have on existing financial structures.
