Google is hunting for a new leader for the global Web3 team

Following the launch of a Web3 team under Google Cloud on May 6, Google is looking for a full-time employee to supervise its global Web3 marketing initiatives

According to the job offering, Google Cloud is looking for a 'Head of Product Marketing,' who will be in charge of raising awareness of Google Cloud's Web3 initiatives and developing market demand for the appropriate solutions.

Vice president of Google Cloud, Amit Zavery, reportedly outlined his ambition for making Google Cloud the primary choice for creators in Web3 in an email sent to staff just before the team's launch:

"While the world is still early in adopting Web3, it is a market with immense promise, with many clients asking us to expand our assistance for Web3 and crypto-related technologies."

Creating annual goals for Web3 and raising awareness across different groups of the Web3 audience are some of the primary responsibilities of the role in concern, in addition to overseeing marketing campaigns.

New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Sunnyvale are the only cities where you can work. Although Google has a history of launching and abandoning several internal projects, this is the company's first foray into Web3.

Polkadot founder Gavin Wood discussed the growth of Web3 with a media outlet during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2022. Web3 apps, according to Wood, don't need to expand beyond their current use: "I don't think Web3 needs to shift from its roots too much yet," he says, "but maybe in the future."

Wood also discussed how Web3 broadened the discourse beyond Bitcoin, smart contracts, and decentralized finance to include the foundation technology that drives the crypto world.
