Durov’s Alleged Russia Visits: Leaked Data Raises Doubts
Pavel Durov reportedly visited Russia over 50 times between 2015 and 2021, contradicting his public claims of avoiding travel to the country.
The report is based on leaked FSB data, which was verified by an investigator linked to Alexei Navalny.
Durov traveled openly, using commercial Aeroflot flights and Russian Railways trains between Russia and European cities, including Helsinki, Finland.
Despite publicly stating he avoids countries like Russia, Durov allegedly traveled there frequently, except between 2018 and 2020.
In an April 2024 interview, Durov claimed he only visits countries that align with Telegram's values, excluding geopolitical powers like Russia.
Durov was arrested in France on Aug. 24 for allegedly failing to moderate illegal activities on Telegram, including drug trafficking and other crimes.
