U.S. State Dept Offers $5M Reward for OneCoin ‘Cryptoqueen’
The U.S. offers $5 million for information leading to the capture of OneCoin founder Ruja Ignatova.
Ignatova was last seen in Athens in October 2017. The FBI continues to search for her, reporting that she may have altered her appearance.
Ignatova faces U.S. charges for fraud and money laundering, with a federal arrest warrant issued in 2017.
Founded in 2014, OneCoin defrauded investors of approximately $4 billion, exposed as a scam in 2015.
Her brother, Konstantin Ignatov, pleaded guilty to related charges and was released from prison in March 2024.
The reward increase and international cooperation highlight efforts to bring Ignatova to justice and protect investors from fraud.
