Chia
Chia Network (XCH) is a layer 1 blockchain that uses its own custom-made programming language called Chialisp and a new consensus mechanism called proof-of-space-and-time (PoST). When you put these two things together, the blockchain can use less energy without affecting the security of the network. Unlike most other blockchains, Chia Network is a public, for-profit, open source company that wants to be listed on NYSE or NASDAQ. It wants businesses to use its blockchain, so Chia Network plans to include XCH on its balance sheet if it gets listed. In 2019, the first proof-of-time function for Chia Network came out. In 2020, the first beta version of its blockchain went live. With the launch of its mainnet in 2021, Chia Network was able to do everything it was supposed to do, such as wallets, transactions, and smart contracts. In 2017, Bram Cohen, who created the popular peer-to-peer file sharing platform BitTorrent, set up Chia Network (XCH) in Delaware. A team of experienced senior managers is in charge of the project. Former NASDAQ CEO Gene Hoffman is the project's chief operating officer (COO), and former Overstock.com CEO Mitch Edwards is the project's chief financial officer (CFO).
