BNB Chain, a blockchain network created by Binance and Platzi Ingles, a Latin America-focused education platform, has announced the launch of a Web3 development course for the region.

The course is expected to be offered to 30,000 students by the end of the year. According to Gwendolyn Regina, investment director at BNB Chain, this training focuses on improving developers' skills.

“This will be the primary educational resource in Spanish for Web2 developers looking to build on Web3 using BNB Chain.”

This initiative is part of an attempt to increase the region's adoption of blockchain technology and Web3 education. In general, the most significant impediments to entering the sector are accessibility and education, as well as unclear local government rules.

Even among people who have already acquired cryptocurrency, comprehension of how the technology works are sometimes lacking. According to a Motley Fool poll, roughly 10% of those who hold cryptocurrency don't understand how it works.

As a result, education is crucial. It's even more crucial in places like Latin America, where cryptocurrency has the ability to empower the local community outside of established, inefficient financial institutions. Regina told sources:

“We can significantly help the region's growth if we make resources for building Web3 tools on BNB Chain more accessible.”

El Salvador, the first country to legalize Bitcoin, is also working to educate the general public about cryptocurrency. The country launched Mi Primer Bitcoin, or "My First Bitcoin," a grassroots diploma program aimed at increasing crypto literacy among young people.

To encourage participation in the new BNB Chain course, attendees at the BNB Chain Developer Camp in Bogota, Colombia, in September will be eligible for a limited number of scholarships for the new online course.

Latin America is becoming a hotbed for crypto and Web3 development and adoption. Earlier this month, Binance and Mastercard launched prepaid crypto cards in Argentina. According to Regina, “Latam must strike a balance between the retail experience and the building potential. There is a large community that is aware of cryptocurrency and its utility on a regular basis.”
