Donald Trump, a former US president who is well known for launching branded product lines, has recently added an NFT collection to his list. On Trump's Truth Social account, the so-called Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection was presented to the public for the first time.
According to Trump's post, the cards are being sold for "just $99 apiece," and the collection's official website references a sweepstake. Prizes include a one-on-one Zoom call or an hour of golf with the colourful millionaire.
Trump continues, "My official collection of Donald Trump Digital Trading Cards is here! Amazing ART of my Life & Career is featured on these limited edition cards! Amass all of your preferred Trump Digital Trading Cards.
A total of 45,000 NFTs will be produced during the initial run of the collection, according to the website hosting these NFTs, and the collection will be minted on the Polygon blockchain.
Trump made his announcement following the formal announcement of his 2024 presidential campaign. Trump's bid for reelection in 2020 was unsuccessful. He served as president of the United States from 2017 to 2021.
The former US president would struggle to secure the Republican Party's presidential candidacy in light of recent polls and his party's poor performance in the 2022 midterm elections.
But despite his unfavourable polling results and the party's poor showing, the former president was still able to grab people's attention on Wednesday by posting a video on Truth Social in which he proclaimed, "AMERICA NEEDS A SUPERHERO! Tomorrow, I'll make a HUGE Announcement. Thanks a lot!
