According to a press release on the Haas F1 website, “as the 'Official NFT Marketplace Partner' of the Haas F1 Team, Opensea will collaborate with the team and additional collaborators to create a collection of branded NFTs.”

The racing team indicated, the program attempts to increase fan interaction. “NFTs have the tremendous potential to open new experiences and provide us with a canvas on which to bring people together in novel ways around the things that they cherish,” said Shiva Rajaraman, Vice President of Product at Opensea.

The Exec noted that the cryptocurrency company is excited to debut creative collections with Haas F1 and provide new chances for their community of devoted fans to get closer to the action.

The Opensea logo will also appear on the VF-22 cars, which were conceived and built by the Haas F1 Team to compete in the 2022 F1 World Championship.

“We've been looking for the perfect partner in the NFT market, and we've found it in Opensea,” said Haas F1 Team Principal Guenther Steiner.

“To be directed by Opensea on our collections and fan interaction potential, we know we'll be in good hands. Since, Opensea not just connected to all the important stakeholders, but they're an industry leader with innovation at the heart of all they do,” Steiner added, commenting on Haas F1's first steps into the NFT space.

Collaboration between the crypto sector and the popular racing sport has grown in popularity in recent years. In the summer of 2021, Formula One signed a multimillion-dollar crypto sponsorship deal with Crypto.com, while Red Bull Racing teamed with cryptocurrency exchange Bybit in early 2022.

In mid-October, F1 filed eight trademark applications in the United States for a variety of crypto, NFT, and metaverse products and services.
