Globalinvestment bank Goldman Sachs has changed its homepage to featurecryptocurrency, the metaverse, and digitalization.

Manypeople on social media expressed their disbelief at Goldman Sachs’ move tofeature crypto and the metaverse above other topics on its homepage.
Severalpointed out that the global investment bank has come a long way from itsoriginal assessment of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. In May 2020, Goldman Sachssaid bitcoin was not an asset class.
Thebank brought back its bitcoin trading desk in March last year andsaw huge institutional demand for BTC. In May, it formallyestablished a cryptocurrency trading team and launched a derivativestrading desk for bitcoin. Goldman Sachs’ analysts said at the time thatbitcoin is now considered an investable asset. In June last year, the bankexpanded its cryptocurrency trading desk to include ether futures andoptions.
Earlierthis week, Goldman Sachs executed its first over-the-counter (OTC)crypto transaction with Galaxy Digital. In January, the bank’s analystspredicted that bitcoin could reach $100,000 as the cryptocurrencycontinues to take gold’s market share.
