But Google has assured that the job cuts will not be as widespread as 2023 and will not affect every team.

In the same year, Alphabet had fired 182,381 employees globally in September and now this year Google is also going to do something similar. Google's goal is to increase users' access to its AI tools, so that it can position itself as the most advanced in AI. Apart from this, Google could encourage its developers to create personalised versions to provide similar features to ChatGPT.
Because of AI, a big company like Google is indicating to cut jobs, so just imagine what else AI can do in the future.
