This has created an environment for speculations and assumptions, and DOGE started trending on Twitter with speculation of being accepted as a mode of payment for Twitter transactions. Undoubtedly it affected the prices of Dogecoin and it underwent a steep bull rally, giving almost 130% returns in a single week.
India is a well-known hub for digital payments and a Unified Payment Interface or UPI has become the foundational stone for its mass adoption. India is already exporting UPI technology to many countries and it has made it the icon for its Digital India initiative.
Entering the debate on paid bluetick for Twitter, Dilip Asbe CEO of the National Payment Corporation of India, replied to Elon Musk’s tweet.
Dilip has made an offer to the new CEO of Twitter that India is willing to integrate its UPI with Twitter to facilitate seamless transactions on the platform. However, this has seen more of as a banter to Twitter’s possibility of integrating DOGE into the ecosystem.
If the UPI autopay feature gets integrated with Twitter’s payment ecosystem, it will boost the chances of people accepting bluetick prices in India. It will also be encouraging for the UPI to get on to the global stage and the chances of its adoption on the global level will increase drastically.
