Judge accepts Ripple’s motion in XRP lawsuit

Based on the order, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the United States was seeking a ruling to seal and redact certain documents placed by the parties in order to exclude expert witnesses. The commission stated in its proposal that the suggested redactions are intended to safeguard the identity of the expert witnesses.

Ripple and the defendants were also requesting that such portions be redacted. They asserted that their redaction intends to protect Ripple's sensitive business interests and the lawful privacy interests of third parties.

The defendants sought the court to contend that the exposure of their details could directly result in severe damage to their negotiation position in future negotiations. This may prompt competitors to revise their sales plans and price practices.

While non-parties MoneyGram International, Inc requested that portions of specific material be redacted in order to safeguard their own private business information.

However, Judge Analisa Torres just partially approved the SEC's requests in the XRP lawsuit. The court denied the commission's request to redact the identities of the consulting firms that assisted its expert witnesses, according to the order. While granting the watchdog's request to redact records deposited in connection with the Daubert Motions.

However, the judge allowed the requests of the defendants, MoneyGram, and a third party. While ordering the official to dismiss the pending motions.
