Adidas and Ready Player Me will launch a personality-basedAI generated avatar creation platform featuring the Adidas Originals’ Ozworldshoe collection.
Adidas is continuing itspath into the metaverse and non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles as the firmannounced it has partnered with Ready Player Me on Tuesday. Basically, ReadyPlayer Me is a cross-application avatar platform designed specifically for themetaverse.
Ready Player Me’stechnology allows people to explore different virtual metaverse worlds with asingle identity. The platform Adidas Originals is launching is linked to thecompany’s latest Ozworld shoe release.
The futuristic sneakersbearing the name Ozworld were originally launched in the nineties and featureda dynamic adiprene cushioned outsole and upper. By partnering with Ready PlayerMe fans will be able to create metaverse avatars that utilize the AdidasOzworld brand.
“Each unique avatar willbe able to traverse the web through a bespoke partnership with Ready PlayerMe,” Adidas said on Tuesday. “This is the first brand partnership that pushesthe limits of the platform – offering interoperability in generative avatarswith over 1,500 different metaverse apps and games.”
Adidas has been testingthe NFT waters with a lot of different ideas as the company revealed it hadpartnered with Coinbase and The Sandbox at the end of November 2021. Thefollowing month in December, Adidas collaborated with the Bored Ape Yacht Club(BAYC) NFT project.
After that, AdidasOriginals launched an NFT collection with Punks Comics, Gmoney, and the BAYC project. The company’s Adidas Originals NFT compilation has also been a top NFTproject in terms of sales volume.
The sneaker andsportswear giant will launch the personality based AI generated avatar creationplatform on April 8. Adiclub members and Adidas NFT holders will gain earlyaccess to the metaverse and on April 28, the avatars’ first installment willlaunch
