  • OpenSea, the world's biggest NFT platform,

  • has extended its technological borders to the Solana blockchain, allowing hundreds of additional NFTs to be added.

The official beta of OpenSea's Solana (SOL) blockchain integration into the world's largest NFT marketplace has been released.

OpenSea confirmed the announcement in its tweet, stating that NFTs manufactured on the Solana blockchain will be accessible to be exchanged on the exchange beginning April 7. Prior to the addition of Solana, the OpenSea marketplace was primarily comprised of Ethereum-based NFTs, as well as the Polygon and Klatyn blockchains. The incorporation of Solana provides artists with the opportunity to trade on a network known for its low gas prices, effective energy utilisation, and quick payments.

The NFT trading system has revealed that it has now introduced 165 Solana-based collections to its platform and is constantly adding more. The adoption of the Solana blockchain by OpenSea is an effort to grab more of the NFT industry and broaden its vision. Following a valuation of $13 billion in January, OpenSea lately raised $300 million, and with it being already the biggest NFT e-commerce platform by transaction volume, it will be intriguing to see how Solana acceptance affects Solana-based exchanges such as Magic Eden, which is the dominant market maker on the Solana system.
