Bitcoin dominates U.S. searches, led by Nevada, while Trump ranks second, indicating sustained interest & local support for innovation in digital assets.

Bitcoin continues to be the most Googled term in the United States, surpassing popular topics such as Donald Trump, guns, and health insurance, according to search volume data from Ahrefs. Nevada has been identified as the "most Bitcoin-crazy state" in the U.S., followed by Miami, California, and Washington.

This trend is attributed to lower taxes and local government initiatives promoting innovation, with Nevada's history of gambling seen as a contributing factor.

In the last 30 days, Google searches for Donald Trump only exceeded those for Bitcoin for two days, coinciding with reports of the former president's possible arrest. This indicates the sustained interest in Bitcoin among Americans.

Other popular terms following Bitcoin and Donald Trump in search volume include breaking news, Elvis Presley, and Disney World, while previously popular topics like guns, Chuck Norris, health insurance, and politics did not even make it to the top 10 list.

A recent report from the U.S. Department of the Treasury highlighted that North Korea and criminals are using decentralized finance services for illicit profits. However, the report also noted that the majority of money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing still occurs using fiat currency or outside the digital asset ecosystem, contrary to some misconceptions about cryptocurrencies.

Overall, the high search volume for Bitcoin in the U.S. reflects the growing curiosity and interest in this digital asset, with Nevada leading the way as the state with the highest number of "Bitcoin" searches, potentially fueled by its favorable tax environment and local government support for innovation.
