Whitepay Introduces

Ukrainians will be able to use digital currency

to buy electronics and other products via a service provided by Whitepay.

The payment processor, which was established by the Ukrainian-born digital asset exchange Whitebit, has just introduced cryptocurrency payments in the country's largest wholesale grocers stores.

According to a local media outlet, Whitepay, one of the platforms functioning as part of the ecosystem of crypto exchange Whitebit, has introduced cryptocurrency payments for the products offered by major Ukrainian electronic distribution centers stores.

As per the report, Tehnoezh and Stylus, which runs leading online platforms in the field, are among the electronics retailers whose customers would now take benefit from the new service.

Buyers may now make purchases using more than 130 different digital currencies thanks to the integration. The list of supported digital currencies will be expanded in the future.

Ukrainian crypto users will be able to pay with digital assets at online retailers or in physical places using special point of sale (POS) terminals deployed by Whitepay. The payment processor will keep the system running and provide customer service.

Cryptocurrencies have become increasingly popular among Ukrainians in recent years, with their country being the adoption leader in Eastern Europe. Kyiv has taken steps to regulate the sector, and since Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, the government and volunteer groups have relied on cryptocurrency donations to fund defensive and humanitarian missions.

Whitebit, an Estonia-based major European crypto exchange founded in kansas city of Ukraine, has taken part in such activities. Earlier this year, the trading platform inked a memorandum of cooperation with the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to aid its Anti-Crisis Center and support Ukrainian refugees through its international representative offices.

Other cryptocurrency firms have also provided assistance. Binance, the world's largest digital asset exchange by daily trading volume, has created a special crypto card for Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their homes due to the current military war with Russia.
