Last night, the Dogecoin community went wild when they realized that the CEO of Twitter Elon Musk replaced the Twitter icon with a Dogecoin logo. This activated massive trade rallies in Dogecoin and went out of the roof with a 22% spike within an hour of this incident.
Even though no official declaration has been made by any of the Twitter officials, Elon Musk shared a meme on his Twitter profile in which Twitter is showing its driving license with an old photo with the bird logo, informing the officer ‘It’s an old photo’.
A day before, Elon Musk shared another tweet on the same meme templates and now the Dogecoin community is speculating that the earlier meme was posted as a signal of this move. However, no one in the community saw this move coming.
Last year, before buying Twitter, Elon Musk asked its Twitter community whether a new social media platform is needed, replying to which a user asked Elon to not create another social media but buy Twitter instead. He further added, “And change the bird logo to a Doge”. Now it seems that Elon took the whole advice a little too seriously and did exactly what the user asked him to do.
Some are also relating this incident to the ongoing court trials of Elon Musk in a case of manipulating the Dogecoin prices with his tweets. This move could also be a flex of the power that Elon Musk holds right now, especially after owning Twitter. Some users believe that there is no specific reason behind this decision and Musk is doing it for no reason at all. But as of now, no specific reason has been mentioned by the Dogefather behind this decision.
