This month may determine the future of the cryptocurrency as some of the biggest financial institutions hold up for the SEC's rulings on their XRP ETF proposals.
The decision could unlock doors to billions of institutional funds or it may prolong the ambiguity surrounding crypto's regulation.
Investors are keeping a close eye on the SEC XRP ETF approval date.

Key Exchange traded funds are queued up between mid to late October:
Grayscale on October 18
21Shares on October 19
Bitwise on October 20
Canary Capital and CoinShares on October 23
WisdomTree on October 24.
If approved, the ETFs would enable pension funds, hedge funds, and other large investors to obtain exposure to the altcoin without actually holding the token.
If not approved, the crypto could continue to be predominantly a retail-oriented asset, slowing down wider institutional adoption.
Earlier this year, the crypto gained an initial legal victory over the SEC when the SEC ruled that sales of XRP on the secondary markets are not securities transactions.
This decision has brought Exchange Traded Funds hope and may lead to additional crypto ETFs down the line, after Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Simplification of the regulations can drive more conventional investors to this altcoin, increasing its market presence.
It is currently at $2.79 and has increased by 1.39% in the last 24 hours.
The price recently rebounded off a support level at $2.70 but has resistance at $3.07.

Technical indicators are showing mixed signals: the RSI at 40.91 suggests neutrality, but the MACD at -0.0348 indicates there is bearish pressure.
Bullish case: A breakout above $3.07 would push it to $3.31.
Bearish case: Falling below $2.70 could test $2.50.
Whale accumulation also stands at all-time highs, showing strong confidence but also the risk of sudden sell-offs.
Ripple has been strengthening crypto's position in the market, like the $200 million acquisition of payments platform Rail, upping its adoption in stablecoins and cross-border payments. The SEC lawsuit may be over in name only, but delays in ETFs demonstrate continued caution. Nevertheless, the SEC's expedited review process, now reduced from 270 days to 75 days, enhances the prospects for timely approvals.
The analysts are expecting a 95% likelihood that one or more X RP ETFs will be approved during 2025.
Approvals would bring $7–8 billion of institutional money into this crypto, which could drive prices higher.
Partially successful authorizations would also reflect a shift in the regulatory mindset, which would be positive for the rest of the crypto market.
Rejections would likely drive innovation abroad and limit expansion for the U.S.
October 18–24 could redefine XRP's investment outlook. Positive judgments may force huge price movements and introduce institutional funds.
Investors and traders watch intently as it stands at a crossroads between marketplaces of mass adoption and retail markets.
