Ethereum Price Prediction: Vitalik Cashes Out $14K as Whale Dumps $39M

Ethereum's price has dropped again, and investors are wondering is this the beginning of a larger decline or simply a temporary dip before a rebound?

The globe's second-largest crypto lost around 2% over the past 24 hours, trading at around $3,931.

The action has been accompanied by whale sell-offs, Vitalik Buterin's recent token sale, and reduced market sentiment, as the next Ethereum price prediction becomes a topic of discussion for traders.

Whale Dump and Vitalik’s Moves Spark Market Turbulence

Big movements on the blockchain often shake investor confidence, and this time is no different.

A well-known whale wallet, 0x5509, sold 10,000 ETH (worth $39.2 million) on Binance, taking a $7.5 million loss after buying those tokens just two months ago. This kind of large sale usually adds pressure on prices and makes smaller investors nervous.

At the same time, Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum’s co-founder, reportedly sold 14,216 USDC worth of memecoins that he received for free.

The sale itself is small, but the timing right as whales are selling Ethereum got the market buzzing. Many traders are debating whether it’s just a coincidence or a sign of more selling ahead.

Global Factors and ETF Outflows Add More Pressure

Ethereum’s decline isn’t only about whales. The global financial scene also plays a big part. The U.S. Federal Reserve recently cut interest rates by 0.25%, but Fed Chair Jerome Powell said more cuts might not come soon. This cautious tone pushed risk investors away from assets like crypto.

ETH ETFs

On top of that, as per the Sosovalue, ETH ETFs recorded $81.4 million in outflows on October 29. Fidelity’s FETH saw the biggest withdrawals, while BlackRock’s ETHA was the only one to record inflows.

These ETF outflows show that even big investors are being careful, especially with ETH failing to hold the important $4,000 level.

Technical Analysis: Ethereum Stuck Between Key Levels

Looking at the chart, the cryptocurrency is at a key turning point.

ETH price

  • The current ETH price of $3,931 sits below the 7-day moving average ($3,986), which points to short-term weakness.

  • However, the RSI (45.3) shows that ETH is not oversold yet, while the MACD indicates that selling pressure is starting to fade.

  • If ETH manages to close above $4,000, it could aim for the next resistance at $4,107.

  • But if it slips below $3,850, it might retest the $3,737 level, which is an important support zone for traders.

Short-Term and Long-Term Ethereum Price Prediction

In the short term, the Ethereum price prediction shows:

That ETH may move between $3,800 and $4,100 as traders watch market signals and ETF flows.

A breakout above $4,107 could push it toward $4,400, the same level it tested in September.

For the long term,

Ethereum continues to appear solid due to its resilient network, DeFi expansion, and Layer-2 adoption.

As long as it remains above the 200-day moving average ($3,622), the overall trend is positive, with possible targets of $4,800–$5,000 by early 2026 if global markets improve.

Final Thoughts

Ethereum's recent decline is within a broader risk-off sentiment within the market. Whales offloading and ETF redemption have resulted in short-term pressures, but network health and developer activity remain promising of a reversal.

Meanwhile, traders would do well to monitor whether ETH may hold above $3,850 and retake $4,000, an important step towards validating the next bullish Ethereum price forecast.
