Bitcoin or altcoin, which is most acceptable as money?

Bitcoin has evolved out successfully to be the most widely accepted cryptocurrency. It can be used directly as payment for goods and services online or through a debit card although there are still some merchants yet to accept it. Bitcoin is the only outstanding coin that can be used to purchase all other cryptocurrencies.
