The UK TV networks banned the ad, claiming it was too political and misleading. The decision echoes past controversies. For example, in 2021, the Advertising Standards Authority had already banned a Coinbase wallet advertisement for being unclear.
This “Everything Is Fine” campaign did not support any political party. The regulators still said that it has painted a negative picture of the government and promoted crypto in a way that could mislead people. More than half of the population still believes that cryptocurrency is a gambling product, and surfing of this could portray the image of the government negatively.
Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, responded strongly in the X post. He defended the ad, saying:
“Our ad, which got banned by the TV networks, has sparked quite a reaction. If you can’t say it, then there must be a kernel of truth in it.”

“The message isn’t political—it’s about fixing a system that’s not working. There were many ads similar to this still running in the country.
