Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), is a bitcoin focused leading firm that has made headlines with biggest purchase of 2025. Following the completion of its STRC IPO, the firm announced in a press release, the acquisition of 21,021 BTC for a staggering $2.46 billion. This purchase was made at an average price of $117,256 per coin which pushes firm's total holdings to an impressive 628,791 coins bought for $456.8 billion overall.

Strategy Bitcoin clarified that the funding for this massive purchase came directly from the net proceeds of the STRC IPO. Although gross proceeds stood at $2.521 billion, deductions for the underwriting fees and expenses left $2.474 billion available for investments.
Strategy Bitcoin had earlier disclosed its plan to funnel IPO earnings into expanding its reserves and continue its tradition of using public offerings to increase its exposure to the cryptocurrency market.
The STRC IPO has not only enabled firm's latest purchase but also set records of its own. It stands as the largest U.S initial public offerings this year and the biggest crypto-related listing in recent years.
Moreover it marks the largest exchange listed perpetual preferred stock offering in the U.S since 2009. With STRC expected to start trading on Nasdaq around July 30 under the STRC, the firm is set to become the first asset treasury to issue perpetual preferred securities offering monthly dividends.
Today, Strategy's stock i.e MSTR drowned by 2%, slipping below the $400 mark. However, the firm’s latest BTC acquisition cements dominance as the largest public treasury globally.
