The Trend of ‘Avtars

In the past few years, the metaverse ecosystem has grown in popularity

due to various real-world applications which garner the interest of individuals, especially GenZ.

Since the creation of the metaverse, the concept of self-representation has grown even more crucial: another world, another me. The core concept of metaverse attractiveness is hidden here. It is the opportunity to become the exact personality that one wants to be in reality. You receive a second chance and more freedom in the metaverse.

Since then, several prominent celebrities have joined this emerging metaverse trend. Celebrities like Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Rihanna, Migos, and others have already launched their avtars in the metaverse, which became quite popular.

Not just celebrities but individuals and gamers are also creating their own avtars in the metaverse which they later used in games and other virtual worlds.

Metaverse: New Age of Virtual Reality | The Avtars

The use of avtars to represent us in the digital world is a common proposal for the metaverse. As we are getting used to playing video game characters or expressing our persona on social media, the avtar is the presence that we project as we engage and interact with other users - they may resemble us, cartoon characters, or something completely fantastic that could never exist in the real world!

Meta initially offered only basic cartoon-like avtars, which were widely mocked, but has lately developed almost photorealistic technology that will allow us to look virtually exactly like we do in real life. Other technologies, such as Ready Player Me and Zepeto, allow us to create avtars that can be put into a variety of virtual worlds and surroundings rather than being limited to a single platform.

In 2023, experts believe that we will see more advanced use cases for technology like motion capture, which means that our avtars will not only look and sound more like us but will also adopt our own unique motions and body language.

In line with this, Sony recently announced the launch of a set of six motion-tracking gadgets that will allow a user's body to control an avtar's motions. The Mocopi set will enable mobile motion capture by wearing sensors around the user's head, waist, wrists, and ankles.

Metaverse in 2023

Not just celebrities but companies like Nike, Adidas, and others, are also exploring the metaverse ecosystem. The companies launched their metaverse products and services in their own virtual environment.

This implies that the metaverse will undoubtedly explode in 2023, with far greater potential and use cases. Meanwhile, the cybersecurity firm Kaspersky predicted that the metaverse will face multiple exploitation and hacks in 2023, which will downgrade its adoption.
