Coinbase Executives Speak Out on SEC Wells Notice

Coinbase's Chief Legal Officer, Paul Grewal, spoke at Consensus 2023 and in a video released on YouTube with CEO Brian Armstrong to address the recent Wells notice received from the SEC. Grewal argued that Coinbase's commitment to regulatory compliance had never wavered and that the company has not changed since its Nasdaq listing two years ago. He also called for regulation, rules, and a framework that makes sense for their technology so they can be registered. Armstrong reiterated that Coinbase does not list securities and that the company is prepared to go to court to defend its position.
