Public of Hong Kong has Soured Sentiment on Crypto Amid JPEX Scandal

Following the JPEX crypto exchange scandal public sentiment towards cryptocurrency in Hong Kong has soured, according to the initial findings from a survey conducted by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's business school. After the allegations against JPEX came to light, the survey was initiated and found that 41% of respondents no longer wish to hold virtual assets, a 12% increase from a previous survey conducted in May. Now only 20% expressed interest in holding virtual assets in the future. The cryptocurrency industry's reputation has suffered in Hong Kong due to the recent financial fraud incident, prompting for increased public education about the sector's risks and potential.
