Inflection AI Raises $1.3B, Builds World's Largest AI GPU Cluster

Inflection AI, based in Palo Alto, has secured $1.3 billion in funding led by Microsoft, Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt, and Nvidia. The capital will be used to build the world's largest Nvidia H100 Tensor GPU cluster, with 22,000 units, for developing large-scale AI models. The company is also developing its own personal AI system called "Pi" accessible via social media or WhatsApp. However, experts warn that the efficiency of training large AI models is limited by current technology, suggesting smaller models as a more practical solution for many users and companies. Total funding for Inflection AI now stands at $1.525 billion.
