Former Thodex CEO, Faruk Fatih Özer, has been sentenced to seven months and 15 days in prison for his failure to submit requested documents during his trial by the Tax Inspection Board. Despite denying his role as Thodex's official at the time, Özer claims that a trustee was managing the business on his behalf. In addition to tax-related charges, Özer is accused of defrauding Thodex investors, and he awaits a hearing on these allegations. Meanwhile, a recent study conducted by Swedish crypto tax firm Divly revealed that a staggering 99.5% of crypto investors did not pay taxes in 2022. The study also highlighted Finland and Australia as countries with the highest proportions of crypto investors who paid their required taxes, albeit at modest rates of 4.09% and 3.65% respectively.
