US Representatives Reintroduce Bill to Investigate Environmental

US Representatives Ed Markey and Jared Huffman 

have reintroduced a bill that would require crypto mining companies to disclose their emissions and investigate the impact of crypto mining in the US. 

The bill has support from 16 public organizations, including Greenpeace USA and the Sierra Club. Markey will chair a meeting on the environmental impact of crypto mining, and he previously wrote to the EPA and Energy Secretary requesting action on the lack of information regarding crypto mining's energy use and environmental impacts. Senator Elizabeth Warren was the lead author of both letters.
