'Future Finance Act' of Germany: Opening Up Investment Prospects
The German government has drafted legislation called the "Future Finance Act" with the aim of modernizing the country's capital market through the issuance of electronic securities on a blockchain platform. The legislation reduces the minimum market capital required for initial public offerings (IPOs) and allows institutional investments in small businesses, startups, and special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs). The rules would be applicable to companies with less than 500 employees and revenues up to 100 million euros. The government hopes that these changes will boost financial innovation in Germany and make the country more attractive to investors.
