Anaxi Labs and CMU CyLab Unveil Breakthrough Zero-Knowledge System

Anaxi Labs & CMU Reveal Breakthrough Proof System

Pittsburgh, United states, December 6th, 2024, Chainwire

Anaxi Labs and Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab have made a new computer tool. It helps build safe apps that run fast and can grow big.

Before this, people thought it was too hard to make apps that were safe, fast, and shared by everyone. Now, that has changed.

A Breakthrough in Cryptography with No Trade-Offs

Blockchains like Ethereum help people share data safely. Zero-Knowledge, or ZK, tech makes Ethereum faster and more secure. It can reach more than 120 TPS. But building ZK proofs is slow and hard.

It can take many people thousands of hours. Writing so much code by hand can lead to mistakes. These mistakes can make systems unsafe. That makes it hard for banks, hospitals, and AI teams to use.

A Team of Carnegie Mellon Researchers Is Collaborating with Anaxi Labs to Overcome This Trade-Off

A new paper from CMU shows an easier way. It turns complex computer programs into simple parts that machines can check. The process runs by itself and can be tested again and again.

This saves time and keeps data safe. It looks at a big program, breaks it into small pieces, and changes each one into a simpler form.

“This idea of breaking the computation into small chunks is new,” said Riad Wahby, professor at Carnegie Mellon University. “We’re very excited about it.”

Unlocking New Decentralized Applications

This new research and system could change many industries. In banking, it can make USD payments happen right away. In healthcare, it can keep DNA data private but still help doctors do research.

In AI, it helps computers share data quickly and safely. Soon, Web3 companies can use this work to fix problems with speed and safety.

“This research and the product we are building incorporating the research will have profound implication to many important industry applications today that need a safe solution for their massive performance overheads, such as ZK and EVM, finally bringing us to the doorstep of our vision of cryptographically-secured decentralized consensus with real-time settlement,” said Kate Shen, co-founder of Anaxi Labs.
“It brings us closer to systems that are both fast and secure.” She added, “Our system works with any coding language. Developers can mix the best new tools to get the top speed.”

Anaxi Labs and CyLab, a Game-Changing Partnership

Carnegie Mellon’s CyLab is a world leader in blockchain research. Professor Bryan Parno wrote the famous Nova papers series. Professor Riad Wahby helped make new cryptography tools used by the Ethereum Foundation and a16z crypto’s Jolt zkVM.

This new project is part of the CMU Secure Blockchain Initiative. It helps CMU researchers test their ideas in real projects with Anaxi Labs. It also gives students a chance to start careers in Web3.

“Anaxi Labs’ partnership with CyLab helps researchers build things that matter in real life,” said Michael Lisanti, CyLab’s Senior Director of Partnerships.
