The municipal staff confirmed that the monument was found in many parts, which suggests destruction rather than theft for money. The Satoshi Nakamoto statue was only welded to its feet in two places, which were still connected to the foundation.
It was also reported by a X user that “On the evening of August 1st, I was at the park. It remained. It was National Day in Switzerland. Young individuals got drunk on the outdoor patio or café next to the sculpture. They simply had "fun" with the idol on the way home. I presume they just dumped it into the nearby lake before leaving for home because there are cameras all around the city.”
The theft was confirmed by Satoshigallery and offered 0.1 BTC which is worth of $11000 reward for its return. Since the local authority found the monument, no one will receive the reward.
Lugano Plan B posted on his social media post about the support and fund raising for restoration of the Satoshi Nakamoto statue. A petition was made online to vote on change.org. "The artist and his Satoshigallery will cover the costs of remaking and supplying the sculpture, provided it is displayed safely." Paolo Ardoino, the CEO of Tether, posted the petition on X.

The crypto community has raised its voice with strong condemnation against those who did this wrong thing, that too just for their own entertainment. Big CEOs and cryptocurrency influencers have posted about this incident on their social media handles. A lot of people have shown their support and criticized this incident. Even though the destroyed monument has since been restored and is currently undergoing reconstruction, the vision remains bold. Despite the event, Satoshigallery says that the plan to put 21 such pieces throughout the world is still in place, proving that while symbols can be stolen, ideas never die.
