Axis Robotics News: Why Does the Team Blame an OTC Counterparty?

Axis Robotics News today: Axis Robotics says the AXIS sell-off of October 28 to 29 came from an OTC buyer, not the team or investors. On-chain investigator ZachXBT alleges insiders sold. Neither account is independently confirmed in the sources reviewed.

Axis robotics latest post

A CoinMarketCap data showed AXIS at $0.1367 on the morning of October 30, down 6.84% in 24 hours, with 165 million circulating.

835,000,000 AXIS (83.5%) in a vesting contract, jointly administered with Binance

Belief

The counterparty sold on the open market, which would breach the agreement

These are project statements. The counterparty is not named. The vesting contract is given as 0xAFE41cfd4C21f1D896678e32C5AD456ea41835e6, which readers can check on BaseScan.

How Do the Two Accounts Compare?

ZachXBT's reported allegation, made October 29:

  • More than 76 million AXIS, worth over $12 million, went from a team-linked multisig to insiders

  • Tokens were sold on Base decentralized exchanges, and some went to Bitget

  • One holder sold about 42 million AXIS for about 5.04 million USDC across eight wallets

  • Reports put the AXIS drop at about 36% to 40% over 24 hours on October 29, and figures differ by tracker and time

Axis disputes the insider claim. It says the sellers were an outside counterparty.

This Axis Robotics News check notes where the accounts overlap. Both point to project-side supply, not to team or investor allocations. They differ on who received the tokens.

By arithmetic, the tokenomics page lists 80 million ecosystem tokens at launch. Then 76 million is about 95% of that, and 42 million is about 25% of the 165 million circulating. That fits an ecosystem tranche. It does not identify the recipient.

Axis Robotics News: What Does the 835M Locked Claim Show?

One billion minus 165 million gives 835 million, or 83.5%. A BaseScan balance shows holdings when checked. It does not show who can move the tokens or when.

The docs say Core Team and private-round tokens vest from month 12. A third-party reading of the contract describes monthly ecosystem releases from November 2026. Axis says none of the 835 million unlocks before the 12-month cliff. The sources reviewed do not reconcile this, so the claim may apply only to team and investor tokens.

Binance's joint role comes from Axis's own statement. No Binance statement confirming the OTC account was found.

Questions still open:

  • How many tokens were delivered, and how many were sold?

  • Who is the counterparty?

  • Was the agreement breached, or has legal action been filed?

  • Will Axis publish a full transaction reconciliation?

The Bottom Line

This Axis Robotics News review finds two competing accounts and no confirmed seller. Axis blames an OTC counterparty, and ZachXBT alleges insiders. Treat the 835 million locked claim as a project statement until its unlock terms and the counterparty are documented.
