CZ Reacts to Layer-1 Roadmap Update Posted in Official Docs

CZ answered the BNB Chain new L1 plan with a short post: “Multiple chains, one coins.” His message followed a documentation update dated October 22, which describes another layer-1 network.

According to Wu Blockchain, its name is still to be decided, and it will run in parallel with BSC. Existing users therefore keep their current network, while this build aims at heavier, speed-focused workloads.

One Token Across Networks: What Docs Confirm

  • No separate token will be issued; BNB keeps its roles: gas, staking, and governance.

  • Assets will move through a native bridge linking BSC with this network, which is still in development.

  • Existing Solidity contracts plus standard wallets should work unchanged, since design stays EVM-compatible.

  • Transactions go straight to current plus next block producers, with no global mempool.

CZ’s wording appears to match this setup: several networks sharing one native asset. Staking through StakeHub mints govBNB at a 1:1 ratio. That ledger cannot be transferred, yet it carries voting weight once delegated, so governance stays tied to its native asset rather than a new one.

Documentation says this design aims at latency-sensitive workloads, high-frequency trading, real-time payments, confidential finance, and agent-driven activity.

Execution runs separately from ordering, so consensus never waits on it. Pre-confirmation arrives early through sub-blocks, while full execution finality follows once a later block records results and finalizes itself.

How It Differs From BSC for Builders

The existing network stays broad-base for today’s ecosystem, while this upcoming design is built from scratch for workloads that outgrow it. Builders should note several changes:

  • Fees follow declared gas limit rather than gas used.

  • eth_getProof, EIP-4844, and EIP-7702 transactions are unsupported.

  • Account abstraction, multi-lane gas reservation, and an opt-in shielded pool run alongside standard transactions.

Gas sponsorship plus passkey signing arrive as a native transaction type, so users need no bundler or entry-point contract.

Docs state that devnet already produces real blocks with end-to-end finality, while several features remain in progress. Interfaces such as RPC methods, governance lifecycle, key management, and shielded-pool flow were exercised against that devnet.

Each docs feature page separates shipped items from pending ones. Roadmap dates are targets, so they may shift.

What Traders and Builders Should Watch Next

In crypto news today, the BNB Chain new L1 matters mainly for how it handles token supply across networks. Supply is unaffected on paper because no new token exists, yet bridged balances will need clear tracking. Key points to watch:

  • Public testnet release plus validator participation

  • Bridge completion between BSC and this network

  • Final naming along with governance details

  • How apps split activity between BSC and the BNB Chain new L1

Official confirmation of its name plus launch dates will shape how the BNB Chain new L1 sits beside sister networks such as opBNB plus Greenfield. For now, the plan is documented but unfinished.
