Binance just dropped a heads-up that traders using margin will want to read closely.
A fresh Binance margin delisting is set to take effect on September 11, wiping out several trading pairs from both cross and isolated margin, along with one collateral asset.
If you've got positions open in any of the affected pair, there's a clear timeline to work with, and missing it could cost you.
According to Binance's official announcement, this Binance margin delisting covers a specific set of trading pair and one type of collateral, all set to disappear at 06:00 UTC on September 11, 2026.
Here's the full breakdown:
| Margin Type | Pair Being Removed |
| Cross Margin | API3/USDC, COOKIE/USDC, PROVE/USDC, QNT/USDC, SHELL/USDC, TLM/USDC |
| Isolated Margin | COOKIE/USDC, PROVE/USDC, SHELL/USDC, TLM |
| Collateral Removed | USDP (from Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin) |
Notably, API3 and QNT are only being removed from cross margin, not isolated margin, since they weren't listed there in the first place.
COOKIE, PROVE, SHELL, and TLM are losing both cross and isolated margin support.
This delisting isn't happening all at once. It's rolling out in stages, and each one matters:
Immediately upon announcement: Users can no longer transfer new amounts of the affected assets into isolated margin accounts, whether manually or through Auto-Transfer Mode. If you already owe a balance on one of these tokens, you can still transfer just enough to cover that existing debt.
September 9, 2026, 06:00 UTC: Isolated margin borrowing gets suspended on the affected isolated pairs, meaning you can't open new borrowed positions in them.
September 11, 2026, 06:00 UTC: This is the real cutoff. Binance will automatically close all open positions, settle everything, and cancel any pending orders on the affected pair. Once that's done, the pairs and USDP collateral disappear from Binance Margin entirely.
Binance was pretty direct about one important detail: during the actual process, which the exchange says could take roughly three hours, users won't be able to make any changes to their positions.
That means if you're holding something in one of these pairs and you wait until the last minute, you could end up stuck watching an automatic settlement happen without any ability to adjust it yourself.
A few practical points worth keeping in mind:
Closing positions manually ahead of time gives you control over the exit price
Transferring assets from margin accounts to spot accounts is the safer move if you don't want an automatic settlement
Binance has explicitly stated it won't be responsible for any losses tied to this event, so the responsibility to act sits with the user
This Binance margin delisting only affects margin access for these specific pairs, it's not a full removal of the tokens from the exchange.
Users will still be able to trade API3, COOKIE, PROVE, QNT, SHELL, and TLM through other available trading pairs on Binance Margin, just not through the pairs listed above.
So this is really about narrowing margin access to these particular assets, not cutting them off from the platform altogether.
Separate from the token pairs, USDP is being pulled as an accepted collateral type across both Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin.
If you've been using USDP to back your margin positions, that option goes away at the same September 11 deadline, meaning anyone relying on it will need to switch to a different collateral asset before that cutoff to avoid disruption to their existing positions.
This Binance margin delisting is a clear-cut, dated event, with a two-day suspension of new borrowing ahead of a full removal at 06:00 UTC on September 11.
Traders holding API3, COOKIE, PROVE, QNT, SHELL, or TLM on margin, or relying on USDP as collateral, have a short but defined window to close out or adjust positions before Binance's automatic settlement takes over.
Acting early remains the simplest way to avoid losing control of the process once the cutoff hits.
