Why Was Flappy Bird Removed From The App Store And Why its Back Again?

The Flappy Bird Foundation has successfully raised $2 million in seed funding, securing the rights to revive Flappy Bird, one of the most iconic mobile games of the 21st century. This funding round was led by Kenetic Capital and Scytale Ventures, with support from Big Brain Holdings, Optic Capital, and 4SV.

Their goal is to modernize Flappy Bird gameplay by adding Web3 features, bringing the nostalgic game back for its old fans and introducing it to a new generation.

When Did Flappy Bird Come Out?

Flappy Bird originally launched in May 2013 and quickly became a global sensation. The Creator of Flappy Bird game is Dong Nguyen. In just seven months, Flappy Bird garnered over 50 million downloads, making it one of the most popular mobile games of its time. This success is comparable to 911 Flappy Bird, a popular unblocked version of the game found on sites like crazygames.

Why Was Flappy Bird Removed from the App Store?

Despite its massive success, Flappy Bird was unexpectedly removed from both Apple’s App Store and Google Play in early 2014 by its creator, Dong Nguyen. He expressed concerns over the game's addictive nature and the stress it brought him, which led to the decision.

Fans were left devastated, and many resorted to playing versions like Flappy Bird unblocked or searching for Flappy Bird Google hidden games to relive the experience. This sudden disappearance also sparked a wave of clone games, trying to fill the void left by the original.

Flappy Bird Game is Back

More than a decade later, a dedicated group of fans has acquired the legal rights to the game and formed the Flappy Bird Foundation. Their mission is to relaunch the game, incorporating Web3 elements while preserving the core Flappy Bird gameplay that fans loved. The updated version will include optional ads, new modes, and characters, appealing to both nostalgic players and new audiences.

Flappy Bird Updates: Raised $2M in Funding

The Flappy Bird Foundation has raised $2 million in seed funding to revive one of the 21st century’s most iconic games. The new Flappy Bird will feature blockchain-based rewards, allowing players to earn tokens for their achievements.

An early version has been released on Telegram in collaboration with Notcoin and The Open Platform (TON), featuring a campaign called FLAP-A-TON, where players mine points to be converted into tokens.

The game also includes a new multiplayer mode, where 99 players compete in real-time, adding a fresh challenge to the familiar Flappy Bird gameplay.

Conclusion

Flappy Bird is making a comeback, empowered by Web3 technology and blockchain rewards. With the Flappy Bird Foundation’s commitment to preserving the game's original charm, this revival promises to deliver exciting new features while rewarding players for their skills.
