GrayScale Hyperliquid ETF Update Today

What Grayscale Hyperliquid ETF Fourth Filing Reveals About HYPG Launch

Grayscale just filed its fourth amended S-1 for the Grayscale Hyperliquid ETF, and this time, it came with a number that got everyone's attention. Hyper Holdings Global LP is putting up roughly 2 million HYPE tokens as seed capital, valued at approximately $113 million at current prices.

That is not a soft commitment. That is real money on the table before the Exchange-Traded Fund even opens.

What the 4th Amendment Reveals About the Grayscale Hyperliquid ETF Filing

As per the Bloomberg ETF analyst review, the filing is getting closer to launch in this quarter. Four amendments means the SEC review process is deep into the details.

The fund has also been renamed to reflect potential staking features, with the full name now leaning toward the Grayscale Hyperliquid Staking ETF under ticker HYPG.

The asset manager switched custodians earlier in the process, moving from Coinbase to Anchorage Digital. Management fees have not been disclosed yet, but analysts expect that detail to land with the final approval.

The Form 8-A elements included in this amendment are particularly telling. That filing type is used for exchange registration, meaning Grayscale is already preparing for Nasdaq listing mechanics. Trading could begin within days to weeks once the SEC gives final clearance.

HYPE Price Today and What Institutional Seed Capital Change

Hyperliquid HYPE token currently trades around $60 to $62.50, with the Market cap of $15.8 billion. Circulating supply runs roughly 253 to 254 million tokens. Daily trading volume regularly clears $900 million to $1 billion.

The 2 million HYPE tokens committed as seed capital lock in institutional holdings before a single retail Exchange-Traded Fund dollar flows in. That reduces immediate sell pressure by pulling supply off the market and into a structured product.

Combined with Hyperliquid's on-chain perpetual volume and its fee buyback mechanism that recycles hundreds of millions back into the protocol, the fundamentals behind HYPE are not just ETF-based hype.

Grayscale managing over $35 billion in crypto products historically means its entry into HYPE brings brokerage account access for millions of traditional investors who never touch a crypto wallet. That is a new class of buyer entering a token with already strong on-chain demand.

Grayscale HYPG vs Competitors: The Race Is Already On

HYPG is not first. Bitwise already has its BHYP ETF live, and 21Shares has its own HYPE product further along in the process. The competition here is real, and it matters because early ETFs typically capture the largest inflow share before the market fragments across multiple products.

What Grayscale brings that others may not match is brand weight. Institutional allocators who have used its products since the Bitcoin Trust era trust the name.

HYPG launching under that umbrella could attract a different category of inflow than a newer issuer would pull in.

The staking angle also sets HYPG apart. If asset manager activates staking rewards inside the Exchange-Traded Fund structure after launch, which the renamed fund signals as a goal, holders get yield on top of price exposure.

That is a product feature no spot Bitcoin ETF currently offers.

At the Bottom of Grayscale Hyperliquid ETF News

Four amendments, $113 million in seed capital, a Nasdaq registration process already in motion, and a staking feature waiting in the wings. The HYPG is not a maybe anymore.

The final SEC decision and the first post-launch inflow numbers, those two data points will tell exactly how big this gets.
