Recent Metaplanet Bitcoin buying is a followup in the series that begin in late 2024. Since April alone, it has increased its hoard by over 13,000 coins. So, the question is how the company manages funds  and why spending a hefty amount on gathering BTC in balance sheets?

Bond Redemptions and New Shares Fund the Asset Expansion

The firm has been raising capital through bond redemption and share issuances to continue its planning. In July alone, the company redeemed 12.75 billion yen (around $86.7 million) from its series of bonds.

In the recent months, the company issued several new shares of millions under capital gathering program. This steady flow of capital allowed Metaplanet to keep buying at a fast rate.

What is empowering the company for further purchases at this cost? Is the reason is profit on holdings or just for security purposes?

Metaplanet Bitcoin Growth Metrics Show Big Gains in Short Time

Well, Metaplanet Bitcoin strategy is not solely based on the volatility safeguarding but it earns a hefty amount through BTC Yield and Gain.

In the month of July, the organisation’s BTC yield was 22.5%, representing more than 52.2 billion yen (around $357 million) in value. In the second quarter of 2025, Yield was an impressive 129.4%, and in the fourth quarter 2024 it hit 309.8%.

The average cost of the total Metaplanet Bitcoin holdings is currently around $100,504 per coin, up from $87,992 in March. This shows that its strategic planning to continue to buy bitcoin even as price rises.

Growing Corporate Demand Could Push the Asset Higher

Aggressive Metaplanet Bitcoin approach shows a major shift in how companies view the asset. As we talk about the recent, Microstrategy, known as the biggest holder, acquired 6,220 coins on July 21, enhancing its total to the 607,770 BTC. Trump Media also holds 18,430 coins in total and announced a whopping 2 billion amount raising planning for further enhancement.

While MARA Inc., XXI, Galaxy Digital are still in the top holders list of golden asset reserves in the public sector.

The Digital Asset's Next Phase: From Speculation to Strategy

Corporate’s continuous investment is marking an important shift in the upcoming economy. B-coin is surging as a key player in the different sectors. As we have seen massive growth over the year and the recent cross of 121k benchmark, showing that it has a strong potential to cross $1 million by 2040

And why not? Things are not the same as usual. Industrial plus governmental views are constantly changing towards crypto and digital assets. But we need to wait to see the final results as the demands grow. It is not bound to a limited range.
