Crypto Whales Buy the Dip? What Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP Whales Did

Crypto whales may have used the latest sell-off to buy. Bitcoin has bounced nearly 3% from its recent low, and on-chain data shows large wallets adding coins.

Ali Charts shared the numbers on October 9, 2026. They cover Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP over the past 72 hours.

But buying is not the same as a bottom. Some other data points the other way.

What Did Whales Do in the Crypto Dip?

Mostly buy, based on the Ali Charts data. Whales added to all three majors while prices were falling.

Coin

Reported Whale Buying

Approx. Value

Bitcoin (BTC)

Nearly 15,000 BTC

$1.25 billion

Ethereum (ETH)

0.64% increase, about 166,000 ETH

Not stated

XRP

More than 45 million XRP

About $63 million

Read the table with care. ETH is shown as a percentage gain, while $BTC and $XRP are coin and dollar amounts. They do not compare cleanly, and all three are rough estimates. What Did Whales Do in the Crypto Dip?

Did BTC Whales Buy or Sell the Dip?

They bought. Nearly 15,000 $BTC for $1.25 billion works out to roughly $83,000 per coin.

That is a lot of money moving in while the market was nervous. It does not tell us where the price goes next.

Are Ethereum and XRP Whales Buying Too?

Yes, based on the same report. Ethereum whale holdings rose 0.64%, about 166,000 ETH.

XRP whales picked up more than 45 million tokens, worth around $63 million. XRP's price also looks steady for now. That is not proof a floor is in.

Is the US Government Selling Bitcoin?

Nothing confirms a sale. Lookonchain reported that the U.S. government sent 17,733 BTC (1.48 billion) and 750W BTC (62 million) to Coinbase Prime over three days.

The asset fell 6.9% in that time. A deposit is not a sale, but traders watch these moves closely. Is the US Government Selling Bitcoin?

Are Bitcoin ETFs Buying the Dip?

A little. SoSoValue data shows U.S. spot BTC ETFs took in $21.13 million in net inflows on October 9 (ET).

BlackRock's IBIT added $22.38 million. Fidelity's FBTC saw $3.58 million in net outflows.

The bigger picture is steadier. BTC ETFs hold $105.84 billion in net assets, with $57.13 billion in total net inflows. Ethereum funds hold $15.71 billion, Solana $1.73 billion, and XRP $1.57 billion.

Some daily outflows hit Ethereum and Solana. Still, 30-day inflows for ETH, SOL, and XRP are positive. Is the US Government Selling Bitcoin?

Will Bitcoin Pump in October 2026?

Some traders hope so. Crypto Rover says Bitcoin fell about 8% in October 2023 and October 2024 before a big climb.

His chart marks a similar 8% drop this month. If BTC wants UPTober back, he says, it needs to repeat that script.

Why Is Crypto Sentiment So Weak Right Now?

Santiment says fear is no longer only about price. Security worries are growing, and AI is part of the story.

Social talk about Coldcard, Trezor, and Bitget has climbed since late August. Ledger is now in the mix too.

Low trust can keep buyers away. It can also fade fast if prices recover. Why Is Crypto Sentiment So Weak Right Now?

Does Whale Buying Mean the Crypto Dip Is Over?

Not by itself. Crypto whales often buy early, and prices can keep falling after.

Weak sentiment and security fears

Accumulation is not a confirmed bottom

Where Could Bitcoin Go Next?

No one knows. If whale buying and ETF inflows continue, a rebound is possible. If more government coins hit exchanges, pressure could return.

Watch daily ETF flows, Coinbase Prime transfers, and whale wallet data. Together they may give a clearer Bitcoin price prediction in the weeks ahead.
