Blockchain Beach 2026 at a Glance: Dates, Venue & Format

Event runs on 18 and 19 September 2026. Each day, talks start at 14:00 local time (CET / UTC+2). The whole event happens in person in Pescara. Pescara is a city on Italy's Adriatic coast, in the Abruzzo region.

The 2026 event has a big change. For the first time, Blockchain Beach moves to a university. The new place is Università degli studi 'G. d'Annunzio' sede Pescara, Viale Pindaro 42. In 2023 and 2024, the event was at seaside hotels instead (source: Eventbrite 2026 official listing compared with Decripto.org 2024 and Officina DeFi 2023 records). This new campus spot shows the event is growing and gaining more support from schools and groups. Before, the event was known mostly for its seaside location.

The schedule is also shorter. In 2025, the gathering ran for three days. In 2026, it will run for two days. This keeps things short and easy for busy workers and students in September. The crypto events calendar on CoinGabbar shows Blockchain Beach 2026 next to other big events in Europe.

Who Should Attend Blockchain Beach 2026?

Blockchain Beach is Italy's own blockchain conference in Italy for the Italian and European Web3 world. The parts below tell you what each type of person can expect at the 2026 event. This is based on how past events worked.

Crypto Enthusiasts and Students

If you are new to DeFi and crypto, Blockchain Beach is a great free way to start. It is one of the easiest crypto events to join in Southern Europe. In past years, talks lasted 30 to 45 minutes. They covered easy and medium topics from Italy's top teachers. Students who want a Web3 job will find a kind, friendly space. It is not a place with pushy sales.

  • Look for: Main Stage keynotes on DeFi fundamentals and Web3 careers
  • Look for: Networking breaks with founders and educators

Project Teams and Web3 Builders

Teams making crypto apps, DeFi tools, or NFT platforms will love the expo floor. It is the best spot for them. In 2025, more than 70 companies came. They worked in crypto, AI, DeFi, Metaverse, and Web3 gaming, per CoinGabbar / Officina DeFi figures. Big global crypto conferences do not often visit Italy. This makes a smart place to be seen early.

  • Look for: Expo Tech zone booth opportunities (check officinadefi.com for 2026 details)
  • Look for: The Pitch Battle startup competition (see dedicated section below)

Institutions and Incubators

Past events had judges and helpers from Camera di Commercio Chieti-Pescara, Innovalley, and Lhevo. This shows that local groups like to work with Blockchain Beach. The new university spot in 2026 makes this bond even stronger. Groups looking for new Web3 startups should watch the Pitch Battle sessions closely.

  • Look for: Pitch Battle judging panels and post-competition networking
  • Look for: University-affiliated academic and research participants

Media Houses and KOLs

Italian crypto news teams and creators have joined past events often. No press pass steps have been shared yet for 2026. To ask about a press pass, contact Officina DeFi through their website or social media. This event fuels plenty of crypto blogs and videos. Watch #BlockchainBeach2026 on Instagram and X for live updates.

  • Look for: Speaker interview opportunities before and after stage sessions
  • Look for: Digital Art and NFT Gallery content (a feature of the 2025 edition)

Founders and C-Level Executives

Top Web3 leaders who join get to see Italy's busy DeFi world for free. With 70+ companies expected and a Pitch Battle full of new startups, this event is a good spot to find deals, meet partners, and learn about Italy's crypto world. Going to the event does not promise you money or a partner.

  • Look for: Legal and compliance sessions (past editions featured Stefano Capaccioli of Coinlex)
  • Look for: Side networking events integrated into the evening programme

Exhibitors, Sponsors & Networking Opportunities

The list of 2026 companies is not out yet. In 2025, more than 70 companies came. They worked in digital-asset, AI, DeFi, Metaverse, and Web3 gaming, per CoinGabbar / Officina DeFi projections. A similar mix of companies is expected in 2026.

For 2026, there are three sponsor types: Sponsors, Media Partners, and Community Partners. No sponsor names have been shared yet. To ask about sponsor prices, contact Officina DeFi at officinadefi.com. No prices are listed in public, and no other group has shared price guesses for this event.

If you want to meet people at this Italian crypto gathering, look for these helpful connections:

  • Italian DeFi and Web3 projects — for community growth and ecosystem partnerships
  • Startup incubators Innovalley and Lhevo — for acceleration and funding pathway conversations
  • Legal and compliance experts (e.g., Coinlex) — for regulatory guidance in the Italian and EU market
  • Italian crypto media and KOLs — for content partnerships and audience reach

If you want to submit your crypto event as an exhibitor or sponsor at Blockchain Beach 2026, contact Officina DeFi at officinadefi.com. Going to the event does not promise you a deal, a partner, or news coverage.

Pitch Battle: Blockchain Beach's Startup Competition

Blockchain Beach holds a Pitch Battle. This is a contest where startups share their Web3 and crypto ideas. Teams show their projects to judges from the industry, incubators, and the Camera di Commercio Chieti-Pescara.

In 2023, the first winners were Matteo Carolla and Max Datsun. Their project was called Pizzafi. They won a spot in a growth program run by Lhevo and Innovalley. This program helped them plan their business, find money, and set up their company, per Lanternaweb.it (September 2023). Both the 2023 and 2024 events had a Pitch Battle. Judges came from Camera di Commercio Chieti-Pescara, Innovalley, and Lhevo (sources: Lanternaweb.it; Decripto.org).

For 2026, no prize amount has been shared yet. Sign-up for the Pitch Battle has not started yet either. Check officinadefi.com for new news. Past contests were about Web3 and crypto startups, plus decentralized finance apps. Joining the Pitch Battle does not promise you money, a partner, or business success.

Blockchain Beach Edition History: From 2023 to 2026

Blockchain Beach has happened every year since 2023. It grew from a small first event into a crypto summit the EU now knows about. The table below shows how it grew over four years.

Year City Attendees Notable
2023 Montesilvano, Pescara, Italy Not officially disclosed 1st edition, Sept 23–24, Grand Hotel Adriatico. 30+ speakers. Italy's first crypto Pitch Battle; winners: Matteo Carolla and Max Datsun (Pizzafi).
2024 Montesilvano, Pescara, Italy Not officially disclosed 2nd edition, Oct 5–6, Grand Hotel Mediterraneo. Co-organised with Innovalley. Officina DeFi said it 'exceeded all expectations'. 30-min talks, 45-min panels, Pitch Battle.
2025 Montesilvano, Pescara, Italy 400+ (expected / projected by organizer) 3rd edition, Sept 18–20. First 3-day format. Expo Tech zone, Digital Art and NFT Gallery (curated by Gea Vision), 70+ companies exhibited. Free admission via Eventbrite.
2026 Pescara, Italy 400+ (expected, based on 2025 baseline) 4th edition, Sept 18–19. First university campus venue (Università G. d'Annunzio). Condensed to 2 days. Recognized as EU best practice; part of Erasmus+ EU #BB project.

Sources: Officina DeFi official blog; Decripto.org; CoinGabbar event page; Eventbrite 2026 listing; SpazioCrypto (July 2026). One thing is clear: each year, Blockchain Beach has grown bigger and gained more trust. This led to praise from the European Commission before the 2026 event.

Erasmus+ Recognition: Blockchain Beach Goes European

In July 2026, the European Commission called Blockchain Beach a best practice. It was picked for Erasmus+ program funding through the EU #BB project, per SpazioCrypto (8 July 2026). This is one of the biggest signs of trust in the event's four years.

The EU #BB project will run for 24 months. It starts in September 2026 and ends in August 2028. Groups from Italy, Spain, Cyprus, and Belgium are working together on it. Test events are planned for Girona, Spain and Paphos, Cyprus. The plan made by Officina DeFi in Pescara can now be used as a model for crypto school events all over Europe, under the Erasmus+ program.

Officina DeFi says it is the first Italian group made just for decentralized finance (source: SpazioCrypto citing Officina DeFi, July 2026). Being picked for Erasmus+ shows that its teaching plan, built since 2021, has passed a high bar set by big groups. For people going to the event, this means the 2026 event matters more than its free price might show.

About Officina DeFi: Who Organizes Blockchain Beach?

Blockchain Beach is run by Officina DeFi (full name: Officina DeFi Associazione di Promozione Sociale). Davide Pietrangelo started it in 2021 as an Italian crypto and DeFi group on Telegram. In 2023, it became an official non-profit a.p.s. group (source: Officina DeFi 'Chi Siamo' page, officinadefi.com). Pietrangelo is the President and Founder.

The group's main goal is to teach people, build community, and hold events about decentralized finance and Web3. It has run Blockchain Beach for four years in a row in the Pescara and Montesilvano coast area. It worked with startup group Innovalley on past events. Its 2026 EU #BB Erasmus+ partnership now reaches into Spain, Cyprus, and Belgium too.The CoinGabbar team has written about Officina DeFi events many times — see the Blockchain Beach press release for the full story of last year's event.

How to Get to Pescara: Travel & Logistics Guide

By air: Pescara has its own airport, Abruzzo International Airport (PSR). It is about 4 km from the city center. For flights from far away, you can also land at Rome Fiumicino (FCO) or Rome Ciampino (CIA). Then take a train to Pescara — it takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. Book your flight early for September. The Adriatic coast is a popular late-summer spot, so prices go up fast.

Venue and local transport: The venue, Università G. d'Annunzio sede Pescara, Viale Pindaro 42, is in central Pescara. You can walk to the shore and the city center from there. Pescara has good public buses. Taxis and rideshare cars are there too. You can walk from the campus to the shoreline path. This way, you can enjoy the coast while you attend the event, just like people always have.

Visas: Italy is part of the Schengen Area. If you are from an EU or EEA country, you do not need a visa. If you are from outside the Schengen Area, apply for a Schengen visa early, before September. No official visa letter service has been announced for this event.

Event app and media accreditation: As of 27 August 2026, no official app has been shared for 2026. No press pass steps have been shared yet. If you are a journalist or content creator, contact Officina DeFi at officinadefi.com or on their official Instagram page to ask about press passes.
