About the Event

The ETH Quantum Hackathon 2025, organized by the Quantum Engineering Commission (QEC) at ETH Zurich, is set to take place from May 9 to 11 at the Hönggerberg Campus. This event invites students from around the globe to engage in a weekend of collaborative problem-solving, focusing on both hardware and software challenges in quantum science. Participants will form interdisciplinary teams to tackle real-world quantum problems, with opportunities to network with industry experts and compete for prizes. The hackathon kicks off with industry presentations and a welcome party on Friday evening, followed by intensive hacking sessions on Saturday and Sunday, culminating in project presentations and a prize ceremony. The event is beginner-friendly, with no prior quantum experience required, and includes meals and on-site accommodations.

What Will Happen: Students will work in teams to solve quantum computing problems. These teams will be guided by industry leaders, and the event will cover both how quantum computers work (hardware) and how to use them for solving problems (software).

Why It's Special: It's a hands-on experience, giving students a chance to work with real quantum computers and learn from top experts in the field.
