RealFi Hack 2025 Conference will be held from 23rd September - 16th October 2025, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Building the RealFi Future: Infrastructure for Everyday Crypto
The RealFi Hack 2025 is a three-week virtual hackathon hosted by Funding the Commons, scheduled from September 23 to October 16, 2025. Its core mission is to empower builders — developers, designers, and researchers — to prototype Real-World Asset financial infrastructure rooted in public goods values. Participants are encouraged to develop solutions in themes like funding systems, financial access, coordination infrastructure, identity and trust, AI for public use, and climate/commons governance.
This hackathon invites builders and developers to create real tools for everyday finance, also called RealFi. Projects can focus on payments, identity, funding, coordination, and more. The goal is to build solutions that people can use in real life, not just talk about.
Funding the Commons runs hackathons, residencies, and research programs all over the world. They help teams create open-source technology that anyone can use and improve.
RealFi Hack 2025 brings together mentors and experts from across the crypto and Web3 world. A few of them include: James Farrell – CTO of Funding the Commons, Debra Nita – YAP Global, Tobias Schreier – Co-founder of growthepie, Owen Hassall – Lead DevRel at Proximity (NEAR ecosystem), Iker Alustiza – Senior Web3 Engineer (NEAR ecosystem), Matheus Pagani – Co-Founder & CEO of Venture Miner, Shai Perednik – Principal Ecosystem Architect, Near Foundation, Ira Nezhynska – Designer and creative lead in Web3, Václav Pavlín – Privacy and decentralized tech advocate, and Bruno Maia – Cartesi ecosystem builder
Many more contributors come from groups like Nillion, Holonym, Foragers.io, xx. network, Edge City, and more. These mentors help teams with ideas, coding, and feedback.
