The Puffer coin listing went live at 14:00 KST, handing Korean retail traders a direct won pair on the country’s largest exchange. So, is the rally built to last, or is it a short burst of excitement? The numbers, trading rules and risks below offer some clues.
Upbit posted its notice at 13:40 KST, 20 minutes before trading opened. This new token listing on Upbit adds a PUFFER/KRW pair on Ethereum, per the official notice. The exchange warned that the start could slip if liquidity runs thin.

Pair: PUFFER/KRW, Ethereum network only
Start: October 15, 2026, 14:00 KST
Reference price: 0.00000032 BTC, about 35.31 KRW
Contract: 0x4d1C297d39C5c1277964D0E3f8Aa901493664530 (verify before any transfer)
The Puffer coin listing also widens access. Korean traders had relied on USDT and BTC pairs before, while tracker data shows the token on Bithumb, Coinone, Bybit and Gate.
The chart moved fast. PUFFER idled near $0.028 for most of the session, then jumped toward $0.078 at the announcement before easing back. Current figures according to CoinMarketCap as of Sept 15:

Puffer crypto price: $0.05410, up 91.54%
Market cap: $31.1M
24h volume: $50.57M, up 589.1%
Circulating supply: 574.9M of 1B
Early reports put the gain at 131.43% near $0.0666, so the puffer coin price has already given back part of its peak. Such spikes are common in crypto token launch news, and gains often fade once first-wave buying ends.
Upbit set tight limits at the open to cool volatility:
Buy orders: restricted for about 5 minutes
Sell orders below -10% of prior close: restricted for about 5 minutes
Order types: limit orders only for about 2 hours
Transfers: Ethereum only, with travel-rule checks; initial withdrawal caps rise over several weeks
Deposits from unlisted exchanges may be returned with delays, so network and contract checks matter.
Behind the crypto token listing sits the Puffer ecosystem, a liquid restaking protocol on EigenLayer, with PUFFER as its governance token.
Depositors receive pufETH, which earns staking rewards plus restaking yield, as per the official docs. Peers include ether.fi, Renzo, Kelp DAO and Swell.
Tailwinds: the UniFi mainnet launch and institutional deals with Google Cloud and Anchorage Digital
Headwinds: Season 2 rewards ended, vePUFFER voting participation fell, and restaking yields across the sector softened
Restaking also carries smart-contract risk.
PUFFER competes in the liquid restaking category. The closest peers are:
| Protocol | Main token | Governance token | Key difference |
| ether.fi | eETH / weETH | ETHFI | Largest TVL, deep DeFi integrations |
| Renzo | ezETH | REZ | Multi-chain focus |
| rsETH | KELP | Accepts multiple liquid staking tokens | |
| Swell | rswETH | SWELL | Restaking plus its own L2 |
Puffer’s edge is its 2 ETH node operator bond and anti-slashing tools, while ether.fi leads on total value locked. Restaking tokens offer higher yield potential than plain staking tokens such as Lido’s stETH, but they add smart-contract risk.
The next test comes when the two-hour limit window ends and withdrawal caps rise. Sustained volume beyond the Upbit listing spike, plus a firm UniFi mainnet date, would show whether demand after the Puffer coin listing has staying power.
Until then, a $31.1M market cap leaves PUFFER open to sharp swings. This article is market information, not investment advice, and crypto assets carry a high risk of loss.
