Anyone following XRP news this week has felt the same strange gap: big partners sign up, yet the price barely moves. On October 15, Cross River Bank said it will plug Ripple's RLUSD into the system its fintech clients use, per Crypto Briefing. Still, XRP trades at $1.34 on CoinMarketCap, about 65% below its January 2018 high of $3.84.
XRP has lived this gap before, and history shows who came out ahead. The coin opened 2017 at $0.0063, per The Motley Fool, and its biggest gains went to the people who were there at the start. Buyers are hunting for that kind of start again. Pepeto, a meme coin presale running its own zero fee exchange, has already pulled in more than $11.1 million from them before listing anywhere.
The biggest XRP news this week is a bank deal. On October 15, Cross River Bank said it will add RLUSD, Ripple's dollar coin, to its core system. Its fintech clients get one link to turn dollars into RLUSD, and payments then settle on the XRP Ledger in 3 to 5 seconds.
The ledger has now settled more than $1.3 trillion, and RLUSD is worth more than $2.5 billion, per CoinGape. Every dollar on these rails gets checked before it moves. Small buyers hunting for the next early coin get nothing like that.
Pepeto was built to close exactly that gap. A bank checks every dollar before it moves, but a small buyer usually learns a coin is bad only after the money is gone. Pepeto gives that buyer the same kind of check, before the trade.

Two of its tools are already live before the token lists: PepetoSwap, a zero fee exchange, and a security scanner. The scanner runs 42 checks on a coin's contract, then tests a buy and a sell on a copy of the chain. It looks for hidden owners, fees the team can change and switches that stop selling, and it shows who holds the coin.
Each coin gets a score from 0 to 100 and a plain verdict. In one test, a coin scored 6 and its test sale failed, so the trade was blocked. That coin was a honeypot, a trap that lets people buy but never sell. Trades on coins with serious red flags are blocked by default.
The routine is simple: scan first, then swap at a 0.00% fee. A $1,000 trade costs $0 there against $3 on Uniswap, and holders can stake for a 161% APY, paid out at listing.
That mix of safety and zero fees is why buyers keep coming, with more than $11.1 million already in and a Binance listing approaching. Analysts project 100x for Pepeto after it lists, so a $1,000 stake bought in this presale would be worth $100,000. The price rises at every stage, so the stage open now is the lowest one left.
XRP can reach $1.50 this month, but first it has to clear $1.35, per analyst Ahmed Ishtiaque at Brave New Coin. On October 16 the coin trades at $1.34, just under its 200 day average of $1.35, per The Cryptonomist, with support at $1.31.
From our view, the road up is real but slow. A clean run to $1.50 is about a 12% gain, and XRP needs about 187% more just to see $3.84 again. The life changing money in this coin was made by the people who came first.
This XRP news shows banks moving onto Ripple's rails while XRP waits at $1.34. Its biggest fortune was never made at this stage of the story. In January 2017, $1,000 bought about 159,000 XRP, and at the $3.84 peak a year later that stake was worth about $610,000.
Pepeto is at that kind of start today, with more than $11.1 million in, a scanner guarding every buyer and a Binance listing ahead. Each stage on the Pepeto official website costs more than the last. Buyers who join at this one get in the way XRP's 2017 buyers did, at the start and not after the run.

The most important XRP news this week is Cross River Bank adding RLUSD on October 15. Its fintech clients can now settle payments on the XRP Ledger in seconds.
It shows the big gains come at the start, which is where Pepeto is now. XRP's 2017 buyers turned $1,000 into $610,000, and the Pepeto official website lists today's stage.
