After a rough week, the chart finally has some green on it. XRP News Today looks at a coin that is up 2.6% in 24 hours, just as Cross River Bank announced it is plugging Ripple’s dollar-linked stablecoin into its main banking platform.
Below, we cover the price first, then the announcement in plain words, and ask whether one explains the other.
According to live market data, the coin was trading near $1.33, up 2.6% over 24 hours, after dipping to about $1.29 and bouncing back.

The 24-hour chart opened near $1.30, rose to about $1.32, then slid to a low near $1.29 in the evening. Then came the move.
Within an hour or two, the coin jumped to about $1.33 and kept climbing to above $1.34 after midnight.
Since then it has held between roughly $1.32 and $1.34. Trading volume fell 31%, which suggests the market is calmer after the heavy selling of recent days.
Our CoinMarketCap snapshots show the bigger picture:

The coin is about 11% below where it stood on October 5, but about 3% above yesterday’s low.
Readers following XRP news today should also note that the jump began in the early evening on the chart’s clock, close to the time of the announcement posts. Timing alone does not prove cause.
Cross River Bank is a U.S. bank that serves technology companies offering financial services.
In its official press release dated October 15, 2026, the bank said it is partnering with Ripple to add RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin backed by U.S. dollars, to its main banking system.
A stablecoin is a digital token designed to hold a steady value, and RLUSD runs on the XRP Ledger, a public blockchain.

In its post on X, XRPLF summed it up: institutions can settle cross-border payments around the clock through one connection.

The bank’s own post adds that issuers and acquirers, the companies that send and receive card payments, get more flexibility to settle during the day and cut waiting time.
Think of it as a new lane added to a road the bank already runs. According to the press release, businesses on the platform can now:
Switch between regular U.S. dollars and RLUSD.
Settle cross-border payments and move company cash 24/7.
Use bank transfers, wires and real-time payments from the same platform.
Reach all of this through one connection, without building blockchain tools themselves.
Ripple’s Markus Infanger says stablecoins will change payments by becoming part of the banking systems businesses already use.
In his words, the goal is to make it easier for fintech firms to move money in real time, across borders, and around the clock.
The release also shares several figures. These come from the companies, so treat them as company claims:
| Item | Figure |
| Settlement time on the ledger | 3 to 5 seconds |
| Cost per transaction | A fraction of a cent |
| Value settled on the ledger to date | More than $1.3 trillion |
| Stablecoin market value | More than $2.5 billion |
| Stablecoin issued on the ledger | More than $1 billion |
The release also adds important fine print. Services are currently available only in limited states, and the bank says the work builds on capabilities already in development.
No deal size or launch date for customers is given. The release also talks about the stablecoin, not the coin itself, and it does not say that Cross River will buy or hold the coin.
Possibly in part, but no source says so. The stablecoin news is real and officially confirmed, yet it is about a dollar-linked token, not the coin on the chart.
The rebound also came on falling volume, which makes it a weaker signal than a rise on heavy trading.
Anyone following XRP news today should treat any single reason for the bounce as a guess.
Here is what to watch next:
Whether the coin holds above $1.30 or slips back.
Whether trading volume picks up again.
Updates from Cross River on customers or more states.
Whether other banks add the stablecoin to their systems.
An official bank announcement, a calm chart and a 2.6% bounce make a nice story, but the sources give context, not proof.
The coin is still well below last week’s level, and the bank’s news is about a stablecoin.
For XRP news today, the smartest approach is to follow the confirmed facts and ignore the hype.
