XRP News Today: Ripple Bank Approval and AI Treasury Launch Explained

Two big Ripple announcements landed on the same day, and the coin jumped about 1.8% in roughly an hour overnight.

A federal regulator gave the green light to a Ripple-owned bank, and a new platform promises to run company cash around the clock.

XRP News Today covers both stories in plain words, checks the timing against the chart, and separates what is confirmed from what is hype.

The chart opened near $1.287 and climbed to about $1.296 in the evening. Around 7:30 PM on the chart’s clock, it dipped to about $1.281, then recovered to roughly $1.30 by 10 PM.

Overnight it wobbled between $1.286 and $1.30. Around 4:40 AM it sat near $1.286, then jumped to nearly $1.31 within about an hour and a half.

That is a gain of about 1.8%. It then pulled back to around $1.297 and made one more small push toward $1.305 in the late afternoon before easing to $1.30.

Trading volume rose more than 9%, so the move had some real activity behind it. Readers following XRP news today will want to know if the two stories below caused it, and we check that in the timing section.

Story One: A Federal Charter for Ripple National Trust Bank

The big headline is that the OCC, the U.S. regulator that supervises national banks, has granted final approval for Ripple National Trust Bank.

The bank received conditional approval in December 2025, so this is the final step.

Here is what the bank is approved to do:

  • Manage the segregated reserves behind the RLUSD stablecoin. Reserves are the cash and bonds that back every coin.

  • Act as collateral trustee, which means it keeps those reserves safe for the benefit of RLUSD holders.

  • Provide fiduciary digital asset custody, which means holding assets for businesses under strict legal duties.

Three details are worth knowing. First, RLUSD will still be issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, a trust company regulated by New York’s financial regulator, so the bank adds federal oversight on top.

Second, the custody services start only once the bank opens, so it is not operating yet.

Third, RLUSD launched in December 2024 and has grown to a $2.5 billion market cap, with BNY as its main reserve custodian and monthly outside checks of its supply and reserves.

It is backed by U.S. dollar deposits, U.S. government securities, and other cash equivalents.

Story Two: AI That Runs Company Cash Around the Clock

The second story is about money management. Ripple Treasury has launched an always-on platform that helps businesses manage cash, liquidity, and payments 24 hours a day.

Companies named include American Airlines, Trax, Christian Louboutin, Subway, Adecco, and Kingfisher.

  • One control layer: a coordination layer works with the platform’s AI tools to automate cash positioning, forecasting, reconciliation, liquidity management, and payments. Reconciliation simply means matching records against bank statements.

  • 24/7 Returns: eligible business customers can earn returns on qualifying digital assets held in a Ripple wallet, including RLUSD, on cash that would otherwise sit idle overnight, on weekends, and on holidays. Program requirements apply.

  • Why it matters: the 2026 AFP Liquidity Survey found that 46% of organizations increased their U.S. cash balances, and 86% of treasury professionals would choose real-time money market funds if they met their policies.

The returns feature runs on the stablecoin, not on the coin itself. The release does not describe human approval steps, so we leave that out.

Conclusion

The bank approval is a real milestone for the stablecoin and for Ripple’s push into regulated finance, and the AI treasury launch shows where it wants to go next.

The chart jumped, but both stories are about RLUSD, not the coin itself. For XRP news today, the smartest approach is to follow the confirmed facts and ignore the hype.
