ZEC official account confirmed that a token standard called ZRC-20, briefly promoted by the Zcash Foundation, isn't actually an official Zcash protocol.
Zcash Price Today is trading at $1,505.84, up 1% today, pulling back from a recent high. This Zcash Price Prediction looks at the ZRC-20 confusion and where the chart's Fibonacci levels point next.
Market data checked on September 22, 2026.
Zcash's official account told followers that ZRC-20 is not a Zcash protocol standard and that Zcash's own planned token feature is still running only on a test network, nowhere near a live launch.
The clarification came after a since-deleted post on the Zcash Foundation's account that had promoted it and a first token called CASH.
The Foundation has since said it had no prior knowledge of either and described it as a private, unaffiliated project.

This is a credibility and clarity issue more than a fundamental catalyst it doesn't change what Zcash, the protocol, is actually building, but it's a useful reminder to verify anything claiming official ties to a project before treating it as real.
ZEC pulled back from a recent high near the 1.0 Fibonacci level of $1,566.10, and Zcash Price Today is now trading at $1,505.84 after bouncing off a low of $1,450.15 on this candle (open $1,459.07, high $1,510.09).
The EMA cluster at $1,391.77 to $1,477.19 sits below as support, and the price has held above it through this pullback.
If ZEC reclaims $1,566.10, the next Fibonacci extension targets are $1,884.97 and $2,400.95 further out. On the downside, the 0.618 retracement at $1,369.00 and the 0.5 level at $1,308.12 are the nearest support zones below the EMA cluster.
$1,391.77 to $1,477.19, the EMA zone, is the first support to watch. Below that, $1,369.00 and $1,308.12 mark the next levels down.
$1,566.10 is the immediate resistance, the recent high. Clearing it opens the path toward $1,884.97 and further out, $2,400.95.
Scenario | Trigger | Likely Outcome | Invalidation |
Reclaim continues | Hold above $1,477, clear $1,566.10 | Push toward $1,884.97 | Close below $1,391.77 |
Range hold | Consolidate $1,477–$1,566 | Base before next move | Break below $1,369.00 |
Breakdown | Close below $1,369.00 | Slide toward $1,308.12 | Reclaim $1,477.19 |
Possible over the longer term if ZEC reclaims $1,566.10 and the broader trend keeps extending along this Fibonacci structure. It's a multi-stage move, though $1,884.97 would need to clear first before $2,400.95 becomes realistic.
According to CoinGabbar analysts, The ZRC-20 mix-up is a reputational footnote rather than something that changes ZEC's actual fundamentals, and the chart backs that up: price is holding above its EMA support after the pullback.
$1,566.10 is the level that matters most now, reclaiming it would put the bigger Fibonacci targets back in play.
