Zcash ran from around $60 to over $1,600 in a short stretch, and now it is sliding back. ZEC trades near $1,339 after losing its rising channel, and one analyst says $2,000 is out of reach.
This Zcash Price Prediction looks at the levels that decide the next move. Will buyers defend $1,250, or does $1,000 come into play?
The Zcash price today is down 7% over the last 24 hours and trades near $1,339. It is falling while Bitcoin rises, so the drop is not coming from a weak overall market. A market data summary gives two reasons for the move.
The main reason it gives is profit-taking, which means holders sell after a big gain to lock in profit.
The summary says ZEC rallied about 253% from late summer to a September peak of $1,698. After a run like that, some selling is common, and the chart shows price pulling back from that top.
The second reason is sector rotation, which means money moving from one group of coins to another. The summary says capital is flowing into newer privacy projects such as Midnight (NIGHT), which it reports rose 86% in a week.
An analyst on X argued that comparing today's ZEC with its old all-time high (ATH) of $5,951.80 makes no sense.
The ATH is the highest price a coin has ever traded at. The analyst says ZEC was newly launched in 2016, with very few coins in circulation. Now, according to the post, more than 80% of the total supply is already in the market.
The post estimates that $2,000 needs a market cap of about $34B, and $5,000 needs about $85B. Market cap is the price multiplied by the number of coins in circulation.
The analyst also says ZEC has fallen back to around $1,300 and is still dropping, and that the recent pump top was $1,698. In the analyst's view, a pullback below $1,000 is needed before a new rally can start.
CoinGabbar could not independently verify the supply share or the market cap figures. They are the analyst's own estimates.
ZEC climbed inside a rising channel from mid-September. A channel is the space between two trend lines that price moves within. The coin topped out near the red zone below $1,700 twice, around September 23 and September 27.
Then the price fell through the channel's lower line and broke the trend, and the chart marks it as a broken channel. A small bounce toward the old line failed, and sellers pushed the price lower again.
Current short term trend is negative and Price now sits at $1,339.09, below both moving averages. An EMA is the average price over a set number of candles, with more weight on recent candles.
The 20 EMA is at $1,405.05, and the 50 EMA is at $1,451.64. Both slope down above the current price.
Level Type | Price |
Resistance 2 | $2,000.00 |
Resistance 1 | $1,700.00 |
Current Price | $1,339.09 |
First Confirmed Support | $1,250.00 |
Deeper Support | $1,000.00 |
Bull case: A close above $1,451.64 would put the price back over both EMAs and start a recovery toward the $1,700 zone. This would also pull ZEC back toward the broken channel, so buyers would still need to retake that line.
Bear case: If $1,250 gives way, the chart points toward the green support zone near $1,000. That is also the area the analyst says ZEC may need to visit before any new rally.
The $2,000 mark is the highest level drawn on the chart, near the top of the old channel. ZEC would first need to climb back over $1,451.64, then clear the red zone below $1,700.
The recent pump top of $1,698 was not enough to get through it. With the price now under $1,400, the $2,000 target looks far off for the moment.
According to CoinGabbar analysts, the channel break changes the picture, because the old support line now works as a ceiling.
Both EMAs sit overhead, so $1,250 is the level to protect, and a loss there would make $1,000 the focus.
